Saint Catherine's Monastery

Today the monastery complex is a fascinating hodge-podge of religious and utilitarian structures from different eras.

The church is now a basilica, and just to the right of it is the mosque with its misshapen minaret. To the right of that,

along the wall, is the guest wing, and along the back wall is the modern era library and the hall of icons.

Along the wall on the left is the building where the monks live, and next to it the refectory. The buildings

in the center house various offices and chapels.
